Top 5 family activities in Samui

Ko Samui is a perfect destination to spend a wonderful holiday with the kids in Thailand. The island is beautiful, easy to reach, there are lots of things to see and do and there are stunning beaches where you can spend the whole day swimming and relaxing, sipping coconuts. Sunbathing, snorkelling and watching the little ones built sand castles and sand fortresses. You can stay in your own family luxury villa, adding ultimate comfort, privacy, convenience to your holiday. The perfect base from where you can explore all of the hot spots of Samui Island, for young and old; kids and parents. Here are 5 family activities to do in Ko Samui.

  1. Family Beach Time in Bo Phut

Of course, the beach is the thing you and the kids have looked forward to the most… high swaying palm trees, sugary white sandy shores and a glorious azure blue sea like you only see in travel magazines and Hollywood movies – visiting one of Ko Samui’s beaches is one of the first things you will be doing upon arrival in Thailand! Pack up, bring a sarong, put on your bathers and spend the whole day by the seaside. The kids can get an ice cream, you get a cocktail and your day can’t go wrong! The nicest beaches to go with kids are found in the fisherman’s village Bo Phut and in the popular resort town Chaweng where there are lots of activities such as inflatable water castles as well as lovely seaside dining venues and cocktail bars. Both of these tourist destination towns are home to some great family villas to stay at, from where you can stroll down to the beach every day, if not lounging by the poolside of your private holiday home of Ko Samui.

  1. Family trip to the WaterPark

Make the kids happy with a trip to one of Samui’s fun and thrilling waterparks where not only the little ones can swim, splash and slide all day long, but so can you 😉

Coco Splash, located near Lamai Beach, features no less than 4 swimming pools, 7 slides suiting both the young and older visitors of this waterpark, there is a jacuzzi to lounge in and there is more than just water fun… Do you dare to jump high up into the sky at the bungee trampoline or how about letting the kids play inside the inflatable castle where kids can entertain themselves perfectly well before some family fun at the mini golf course? No wonder they call it an adventure and waterPark! The perfect family day out, I would say!

  1. Outdoor Adventure at Ang Thong National Park

It’s best to visit this attraction of Ko Samui with older kids who are up for some outdoor activities. The Ang Thong National Park features 42 islands, located close to one another, making it a perfect place to go sea kayaking from one island to the other. In the national park there are nice beaches rest in between the kayaking, perhaps to enjoy a picnic together by the seaside. The sea water is crystal clear and full of beautiful coral to admire, so bring your snorkelling gear! Up for some more adventure? Enjoy a 30-minute hike through the jungle to get from one beach to the other. The mother island Ko Mae Ko features a stunning azure blue saltwater lake surrounded by limestone cliffs. It is a serene where mother nature’s beauty will take your breath away but it does require a climb to get there, so make sure you are fit enough and the kids are up for it, too. Take it easy or get ready for an active outdoor family day out, depending on the age of your kids. One thing is for sure, you will have an amazing day with your loved ones!

  1. Canopy Adventure

The Ko Samui Canopy Adventures promise a thrilling experience for everyone! Imagine yourself zip lining between the treetops of Samui’s tropical rainforest like a little (or big) monkey. This outdoor attraction is not for kids below 7 and certainly not for those afraid of heights, but once you are gliding through the jungle trees, the breathtaking scenery will make you forget all about the ground down below. Kids can go together with mum or dad and at the end of the trip, the whole family can swim in a natural pool below a cascading waterfall that you flew over just before. The perfect cool off after a hot sky-high adventure.

  1. Paradise Farm Park

Located on the highest mountain of Ko Samui, Khao Pom, awaits this charming animal park with mesmerising views of the surroundings. While parents enjoy the view, kids can play, feed and pet the animals in this lovely park, such as tropical birds, deer, ponies, rabbits and more kid-friendly animals. The Paradise Farm Park also features a swimming pool with a view and a charming on-site restaurant serving traditional Thai as well as European cuisine. Go check it out!
